Wayne State University's December Departmental Dance Concert was recently mentioned in a story about the fall dance season. Read the Detroit News article here. The Department will also participate in Noel Night on the same weekend. Here are the details:
December Dance Concert
These performances showcase WSU dance majors performing the choreography of Guest Artist and faculty repertory, as well as selected student dances. This year's Maggie Allesee Choreographic Artist is Dwight Rhoden, co-founder and co-director of New York City-based Complexions Contemporary Dance Company. New faculty works by Liz Schmidt and Sean Hoskins will be included, as will the WSU African Dance Company To Sangana's performance of a work by guest artist Amaniyea Payne. Performances will be in the Allesee Dance Theatre, room 3317 on the third floor of Old Main, 4741 Cass Ave, Detroit on:

Noel Night
The WSU Dance Company, a student dance company in the Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance under the direction of Linda Simmons and Nicholas Leichter, will preview their evening-length dance in two performances on Noel Night. This year's theme is "Jazz - Made in America" and includes dances by featured choreographer Nicholas Leichter, guest artist Trudy Cobb-Dennard, WSU alumnus Aaron Smith ('11) and current student Kaitlin Chartrand.
