"Wayne grad spills 'True Blood' on TV"

A feature story chronicles the acting career of Wayne State University graduate Dean Chekvala, who recently completed the latest season of HBO's series "True Blood." Chekvala found his passion for acting at Wayne State, where he received his BFA in 2000. He won roles in professional theaters, first in Colorado then Los Angeles. Chekvala got his first TV role in the series "Numb3rs." In addition to "True Blood," he had a regular role as J.D. Dunn on the CBS series, "Harper's Island." His other television credits include "How I Met Your Mother," "Breakout Kings," "The Defenders," "Justified," "Lie to Me," "E.R.," "NCIS," "NCIS: LA," "Without A Trace," "Austin Golden Hour," "Skip Tracer" and a 2003 pilot, "13 Graves."
