The Department of Theatre at Wayne State University is accepting applications for part-time faculty member positions in all areas.

Part-time faculty generally teach one course and occasionally two courses per semester. In the areas of survey courses, a three-credit course can involve 3 contact hours per week. In the areas of performance and design, a two-credit course can involve 3 contact hours per week and a three-credit course can involve 4 contact hours. Part-time faculty are responsible for instructing students during the course hours, evaluating student work completed in the course, and holding office hours on a regular basis.

To be eligible for consideration, a candidate should possess a Master's Degree in a field of specialization appropriate to the area of the assignment. Candidates should submit a portfolio including the following: a letter ofapplication, curriculum vitae, a short statement ofteaching philosophy of not more than one page in length, and the names of three references (including their email and telephone number). Applicants who would like their materials returned after review should include a SASE. In the letter ofapplication, the applicant should state the subject area in which he or she is qualified to teach.
