Best of the best: 5 fun things to do Aug. 7-13

The Motor City Tap Fest, now in its seventh year, opens Aug. 13 at Wayne State University. The multiday event includes dance classes, panel discussions and a big show Aug. 16 at Orchestra Hall that will showcase everything from tap to salsa to step dancing. Among this year's guests are dancer-choreographer Chloe Arnold (seen recently on "So You Think You Can Dance") and Michigan native Eric Gutman, who was in the Broadway cast of "Jersey Boys." The tap event runs through Aug. 16 at various locations.
