Wayne State University will host three days of tap classes on campus this weekend as part of the Motor City Tap Festival. The tap classes will be taught by professional dancers and tap experts - including a session called Tappy Hour that's being offered at nearby Motor City Wine. The fun concludes at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Orchestra Hall with a big tap show featuring faculty members from this year's fest.

Dancers of all levels will be featured on Wayne State University's campus for the sixth annual Motor City Tap Fest, Aug. 15-17. This year's festival features three days of master classes with nationally renowned tap artists. Each day commences with a free stretch class. Dance lessons range from beginner to advanced levels for dancers of all ages, including improvisation courses and tap lessons.

The Motor City Tap Fest - conceived and directed by Denise Caston - comes to the Wayne State Department of Theatre and Dance studios for 3 power-packed days August 15-17! Students of all ages and abilities are welcome, and registrants can choose from a variety of age and skill-appropriate classes. Tap Fest 2013 also includes a Tap Jam, a Participants' Showcase, the introduction of "Tappy Hour" adult event, and a Masters of Tap performance at Detroit's Orchestra Hall.
