"25 to Watch in 2013"

Carleton, MI, native, 2011 Wayne State grad and Nicholas Leichter dancer since 2009, Bryan Strimpel has lately emerged in the provocative Twenty Twenty as choreographer Leichter's demographic polar opposite yet his match in the all-important slink and sass. Strimpel will perform with Brian Brooks Moving Company at the Joyce Theater's FOCUS Dance (Jan. 9 and 13), at The Egg in Albany, NY (Feb. 8), and SUNY Oswego (Feb. 27). Not to be missed: Nicholas Leichter Dance at Dancenow Joe's Pub (Feb. 14-16).

Bryan Strimpel performed in the 2012 premiere of Leichter's Twenty Twenty, June 8-9 at NYC's Joe's Pub at the Public Theater. Dance critics found Strimpel to be "astonishingly fluid," having "an elastic body" and "absolutely incredible." Dance Magazine described Twenty Twenty as "a scorching, irrepressibly sexy duet." Strimpel continues to work with Nicholas Leichter Dance and also is performing with Brian Brooks Moving Company, including three dates the previous week at the Joyce Theater, NYC's top venue for dance.
