Tales from Shakespeare

Twelfth Night & A Midsummer Night's Dream

By Shakespeare, Adapted and music by Scotty Arnold,
with additional material from "Tales from Shakespeare" by Mary Lamb

SHOW INFORMATION

About: Tales from Shakespeare mashes up Shakespeare's dialogue, Mary Lamb's prose, and fresh new music to tell two of Shakespeare's best-loved comedies with family-friendly run times.
Twelfth Night is the story of twins Viola and Sebastian, separated by a shipwreck, who find love and adventure on their way back to each other. To survive in a man's world, Viola assumes the name Cesario and serves at the hand of heartthrob Duke Orsino, who pines for Countess Olivia, who pines for her recently deceased brother and father. As Viola's loyalty blossoms into something more, Sebastian hitches his wagon to a loyal sailor with a questionable past. This heartwarming comedy keeps us in touch with the power of love.
A Midsummer Night's Dream shows how sometimes, it takes some magic from the natural world to right the confusions of courtly romance. Four crisscrossed lovers attempt to run away from their problems, only to meet fairies in the wood with other plans in mind. This fast-paced summer romp will keep you guessing and laughing until the tangled knot of love is smoothed.
