Graduate Theatre Management students interview design faculty in Media CenterThe Media Center houses a multi-media production studio and two computer labs with Mac an PC computers. The Media Center is available to all current theatre or dance majors and minors at Wayne State University. Students are able to rent multimedia production equipment from the Media Center to explore the use of audio and visual media within the context of theatre and dance production.

How can I check out media equpiment?

You will need to fill out and submit the "Equipment Reservation Form". You will receive an e-mail approving or denying the request (with a reason). Equipment can only be checked out on Thursdays and returned on the Tuesday following the checkout. The Media Center is open for equipment circulation between 11am-4pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You may refer to the "Equipment Availability Spreadsheet" for details about what equipment is available.

When is the Media Center open?

The Media Center is open by appointment only. Check-in and Check-out times of Media Equipment is between 11 AM - 4 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays (excluding University holidays). Training on media production equipment and software is typically scheduled between 9 AM - 9:30 AM on weekdays.

How can I reserve time in the Media Center's computer lab or photo/video studio?

You will need to fill out and submit the "Media Center Space Reservation Form". Complete the request before 9am on the day you would like to use the space. You will recieve a confirmation e-mail if your request is approved. Approval is on a first-come, first-served basis.

How can I access photos or videos from past shows?

If you were part of a production by the Theatre and Dance department, you may request photo and video media of the production for personal, non-commercial use. Fill out the Media Request form. Media will be shared via OneDrive only and available to download for 1 week after the link to the media is shared. Allow up to 1 week to receive a downloadable link to the requested media.

How can I get training on how to use media equipment?

Send an e-mail to the Media Center and Production Coordinator to schedule training on how to use media equipment. Training typically happens Mondays-Fridays from 9-9:30 AM.

How can I get training on Adobe software (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Audition, InDesign)?
