'Dance On, Detroit!' A Maggie Allesee Celebration of Dance airs on Detroit Public Television Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

DETROIT, MI (13 June, 2014) - Maggie Allesee had a vision of letting the world know that the culture and spirit of dance is alive and thriving in Detroit. As executive producer of 'Dance On, Detroit', Allesee teamed up with award winning director R. Drew Fezzey, director of photography and Wayne State dance alumni Nicholas Caramagno, and Douglas Marketing Group, to make her vision a reality.

'Dance On, Detroit' discusses the impact dance has on education and health, and celebrates Allesee's passion for the movement. Detroit has been a mecca for dance for over a century and has produced many legendary performers. These exceptional talents attracted the world's finest dance companies and professionals to collaborate, teach, and perform on the legendary stages within the city. It's universally known that Detroit loves to dance.

The institutions and dance curricula available in Metro Detroit attract extraordinary talent. 'Dance On, Detroit' also profiles educators, students, and dance luminaries. See exclusive interviews and choreography from Wayne State University faculty members Eva Powers, John Wolf, Meg Paul, Jeff Rebudal, Biba Bell, and many others from the Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance.
