Rachael Ahn Harbert is a Detroit based movement artist and educator. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Dance from Wayne State University and has been on the part time dance faculty since 2011. From 2012 to 2014, she was a member of ARTLAB J Dance. During a ten month artist residency through Spread Art @detroit contemporary, she curated and performed in several events including Converge, an interactive improvisational performance featuring twenty-three sound, movement, visual and film artists. In June 2015 she was an artist in residence at <fidget> in Philadelphia and performed at Bushwick Open Studios in Transplant: Own Your Dirt and Bklyn / Detroit / Beyond presented by Spread Art and thingNY. Rachael is a collaborating artist with the immersive performance group, nerve, led by Kathe Koja. She joined LaMarre and Dancers in 2011, performing choreographed works and structured, site-specific improvisations around the Midwest, such as They Were Displaced… And Again featuring James Cornish at SiTE:LAB / Rumsey Street Project for ArtPrize 2015.
