Talent Scholarships

Maggie Allesee Talent Scholars
The Maggie Allesee Talent Scholars program is an important additional source of financial aid for dance majors; varying amounts of scholarship funds are awarded to students with outstanding potential for success in dance and dance education, and/or to those who demonstrate financial need. Awards are normally renewable for up to eight semesters, given adequate student progress and availability of funds. Award: $500-$3000 per year.

Allesee Scholars Abroad
This fund provides awards that enable the department’s most outstanding students to study internationally for both long- and short-term residencies. Interested students are encouraged to use the junior year for international study and should begin planning for study abroad in the fall of the sophomore year.

Dance Activity Awards
Activity Awards are awarded to members of the dance companies, as well as to student work positions each semester. The amount of Activity Award is determined by the faculty, based on the student’s level of commitment, participation, level of work, attendance and the number of dances learned and performed in a semester. Extra consideration is given to student choreographers and students who are exceptionally generous in service to the dance department. Activity Awards range from $250 -$1250 per semester.
