Faye Driscoll is a Bessie Award-winning choreographer and director whose work is rooted in an obsession with the problem of being ‘somebody’ in a world of other ‘somebodies’ and all of the conflicts and comedy born in our interactions with others. She is a Guggenheim Fellow and a recipient of a 2016 Doris Duke Artist Award.
The 2017 Allesee Guest Artist Repertory ensemble has had the pleasure of working with New York-based choreographer Faye Discroll on her new piece, “Sea of Love.” Hailed by The New York Times as “…one of the most original talents on the contemporary dance scene,” Driscoll’s new work combines a mixture of tableaux, images, and physical states to produce a highly theatrical, at times comedic, and ultimately humanist perspective on contemporary life.Read more
