Dance Company One

Wayne State University's Dance Company presents:

Let's Dance

In the 2015-16 season, the WSU Dance Company presented It's Not How People Move It's what Moves Them. We are back again this season, incorporating contemporary forms of social dance—from the hustle and electric slide, to voguing and street jazz, to club dance and physical partnering, to Senegalese circle dances. Let's Dance invites the audience to share as dancers tell their own stories of belonging and the sense of community they found through dancing. This year NYC based Nicholas Leichter has created a new piece for the Company. Also see new works by WSU alumni Chris Woolfolk and WSU student Dasan Mitchell.

  • The program is available for performance at your school or community setting February through May. See Touring information below.

WSU Dance Company provides entertainment and education through exciting dance performances designed for audiences of all ages both on campus and at venues throughout and beyond the state of Michigan. Company One dancers hail from communities throughout the state of Michigan and the province of Ontario.  Company members are all Dance majors in the Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance and are selected by audition.
