Children's Theatre childrens_theatre_wsu

Each spring, the Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance tours a children's theatre production, at no cost, to elementary schools in the Detroit Public Schools Community District. Children's Theatre tours annually from mid-May to late June. 


Complexions - Dance at Wayne State UniversityComplexions

The Complexions Contemporary Ballet Intensive Program instructs its students like no other. It guides dancers to achieve their full artistic potential in the unique and exclusive style of Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Students are taught the Complexions Technique through classroom exercises and company repertoire instruction. Participants experience techniques designed to cultivate and develop strong, well-trained dancers who are educated to perform more skillfully and creatively.

Did you know that the Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance provides a number of community outreach opportunities for local communities and schools? For minimal cost, our touring companies will come to your school or community space to perform. Not only are these tours highly entertaining, they're also deeply engaging. Our Touring Ensembles include: Company One (Contemporary/modern dance), To Sangana (Pan-African dance), Motor City Cabaret (Musical Theatre), Freedom Players (Theatre)
